#DesertDreamer

I designed every inch (including the landscape and pool design) for this funky Arizona vacation rental. I tend to gravitate toward organic modern design, but for this one I went super funky + boho to create a photo-op worthy space for vacationers. I wanted every element to feel unexpected, maybe like something you wouldn't choose for the house you live in every day. From black and gold couches to hand-painted headboards and concrete floors, this is a retreat that has something to look at around every corner!

This black fireplace are the things midcentury dreams are made of. I brought in warm textures with the baskets, jute rug, and carved end table, which was just enough to make it feel elevated and cozy.

With such an open floor plan, I wanted to carve out a dreamy reading nook where a guest could enjoy their morning coffee or a book. I painted the corner (including the ceiling) to make it feel like a separate space, and added a hanging chair, faux cowhide, a yucca and some geometric prints to create a modern southwestern vibe.

A gold velvet couch? Yes please! This statement piece created a great photo op for traveling friends. Bonus points: it is a pullout couch that easily transforms into queen bed - and the nesting tables are the perfect nightstands.
